JJ Based on a Vill Story One is inspired by Felix Mitchell’s Oakland drug cartel, the 69 Mob, which turned housing projects into armed camps.

By the late seventies, Felix infused his organization with a discipline that Panthers could only envy. With kids as young as ten serving as whistleblowers, rooftop lookouts ready to shoot, and the forced cooperation from village residents, the 65th and 69th housing projects became armed encampments.

Much like The Carter in New Jack City. Yukmouth, of Luniz, wanted to give fans a history lesson, only one that tells an actual story.
