I’m Leaving Soon is a deeply personal story about departures, moving on, and the reality that saying goodbye is never a quick or straight line. The album was triggered by a real-life health scare and a struggle with his own mortality and the medical scare left him questioning his future.

Token noted that the dual state of extreme career success and sudden physical vulnerability had him wondering, “Will this moment be leaving soon? And writing this album I was also wondering if I will be leaving soon.”
