GoldLink described the album as a concept album about one girl who he hadn’t talked to in four years, as the album concerns a relationship and subsequent breakup he had when he was 16. It’s a love letter and a confession wrapped into one. GoldLink examines a past relationship with a woman who may have been the one. He reveals his feelings and reminisces about the times they had.
