Fantastic Damage is a futuristic, dystopian sci-fi opus album set in a corporately oppressive near-future. El-P notices how science fiction becomes reality with government powers not only watching what its people do but enforcing it through force. An exaggerated example is on Stepfather Factory, where he raps from the perspective of a salesman who’s trying to promote androids that function as stepfathers.
