80 Blocks from Tiffany’s II
Camp Lo & Pete Rock
2013
80 Blocks From Tiffany’s II is about how the Bronx and New York in the ’70s in general were a total toilet, and there was a huge discrepancy between violence, street shit, gang shit, the birth of hip hop, and another side of town where everyone was rolling in money and wealth and everything was still great. It was literally 80 blocks away from Tiffany’s.
With the project’s name paying homage to the BX gangs of the 70s, it’s only right that they bring it back to hip-hop’s essence in the video: graffiti, b-boys, rhymin’ on the project stairways, two turntables and a mic.
