Deltron 3030 – Deltron 3030

Deltron 3030 is a sci-fi narrative album whose story casts Del The Funky Homosapien in the role of Deltron Zero, a disillusioned mech soldier and interplanetary computer prodigy rebelling against a 31st-century New World Order. In a world where evil oligarchs suppress both human rights and hip-hop, Del fights rap battles against a series of foes, becoming Galactic Rhyme Federation Champion. You’d think a hip-hop concept album about interplanetary rap warriors battling to restore humanity’s hip-hop supremacy in a corporate-dominated dystopia would be cornier than the end result.  In the epic opening song, 3030, Del paints a vivid picture of the post-apocalyptic world in the year 3030, and sets the stage for the rest of the album.

Big Moe – City of Syrup

City of Syrup is an album all about “Purple Drank” Big Moe and most of the Screwed Up Click featured were known for drinking Lean, in fact, three of the original members of the clique died from codeine related complications (including Big Moe) due to the unhealthy diet that inspired this album.

KMD – Black Bastards

The Black Bastards cover was a play on the game Hangman. It had a couple of the letters missing from “black bastards,” several of the letters filled, and it had Sambo, the KMD character, getting hanged. “So Sambo is getting hung, and it says, basically — and this isn’t hard to figure out — Death to stereotypes. We are not Sambo anymore. We are not black bastards. We’re killing this ethos” – KMD

Quasimoto – The Unseen

Roughly, The Unseen is a concept album about (ready for it?) invisible creatures that convince us to do bad things to ourselves and each other. The squeaky-voiced Quas is constantly inciting violence.
