Pea’s Gotta Have It was inspired when Von Pea was cleaning his bedroom and came across his high school journals. His trip down memory lane gave him the inspiration to make a concept album about his high school days, going back a decade to think about what life was like as a teenager in Brooklyn. The result is fifteen songs and two skits that all deal with different aspects of high school life.

“It’s a concept album based around high school, around what I thought my album would sound like when I was 17,” explains Von Pea. “In a way, it’s a goal I’m achieving late. It’s music inspired by my coming of age in Brooklyn.”
