May the Lord Watch serves as a thematic sequel to The Minstrel Show, and revisits the satirical UBN (U Black N***as Network), a TV network that exists to exploit and pander to black audiences. This time, the album centers around a tribute to fictional soul singer Percy Miracles, with UBN live broadcasting his memorial services.
May the Lord Watch picks up where The Minstrel Show left off: Radio host Peter Rosenberg shows up as president of the make-believe UBN Network to announce the death of Percy Miracles.
