Dr. Yen Lo is a collaboration between Brownsville rapper Ka and producer Preservation. The album/duo is aptly titled after the character Dr. Yen Lo from the 1962 film The Manchurian Candidate, who was a brainwashing Communist. Many of the album’s themes and samples are taken from the film.

Days With Dr. Yen Lo doesn’t retrace the plot of the film or the book that inspired it, but instead engages with its themes, playing off of soundbytes interspersed between songs.
