Hail Mary Mallon

Hail Mary Mallon is a collaborative team up between Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic. Bestiary is a pseudo-concept album glued together with skits centering on Aesop and Sonic trying to save a local bowling alley, where Aesop was apparently born, according to one of the scenes.

Another recurring theme in Bestiary is the food chain, used as a metaphor for the trials of the working class and the rap game. Human society is little more than a complex food chain where some people are predators and some are prey. You might not be able to understand why you exist, but at least you get ice cream sometimes.

Once Rob and Aesop manage to actually raise a good amount of money from the fundraiser concert, they head out on a spending spree to buy a bunch of exorbitant items they don’t actually need to make it sound like they have lots more money than they actually have.
