Before I Self Destruct is an album thematically geared toward the streets, and loosely modeled after the film of the same name where 50 Cent’s dream of becoming a basketball player fails to materialize, and he finds himself employed in a supermarket. After his mother is tragically gunned down, 50 is consumed by revenge and takes up a life of crime in order to support his younger brother.
